Global Career Development Facilitator - GCDF

The Career Development Facilitator project was initiated in 1997 by the Center for Credentialing & Education (CCE), the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and the National Occupational Information Coordinating Committee (NOICC). CCE has gone on to develop the Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF), offering country-specific standardization and recognition to career development professionals worldwide. GCDF programs have been implemented in at least 15 countries including Bulgaria, Canada, China, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Japan, Korea, Macedonia, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, Taiwan, Turkey and United States of America. .
GCDF certified career facilitators are qualified to:

  • Offer individual and group services for career development
  • Follow the client through the process of career development
  • Coordinate career development centers
  • Conduct interviews and propose employment strategies
  • Develop and coordinate human resources strategies
  • Facilitate access to information on the labor Market
  • Work on workforce development

Criteria you need to meet in order to become a GCDF:

  • 120 hours of training under the Program
  • 200 hours of Program-related practical experience
  • Adherence to the Program ethical standards
  • University degree

Requirements for maintaining GCDF

Global Career Development Facilitator Program - GCDF certificate is valid for a 3 year period, after which a recertification application needs to be submitted, stating that the applicant meets the requirement for 75 hours of continuing education in related areas and adhares to the GCDF Ethical Standards.
